Welcome to my home's small vegetable garden, a living laboratory where permaculture principles and agroecological practices come together in harmonious design. This space represents my journey in transforming a conventional backyard into a productive ecosystem that mimics natural patterns. My garden embodies key permaculture principles such as obtaining yield, catching and storing energy, and producing no waste. Companion planting helps maximize space and create beneficial relationships between plants – tomatoes grow alongside basil, marigolds act as natural pest deterrents, and climbing beans use vertical space while fixing nitrogen in the soil. I practice sheet mulching with organic materials to build soil health, and my compost system turns kitchen scraps into black gold for the garden.
