Keela Permaculture

Keela Permaculture Farm is an off-grid learning center located in the mountains of central Portugal, where we practice regenerative agriculture, natural building, and community living. Our land includes food forests, vegetable gardens, orchards, grazing areas, and wildlife habitats, all designed through the ethics and principles of permaculture. We work to restore soil health, increase biodiversity, and create productive systems that work in harmony with the local ecosystem.

We welcome learners, volunteers, and visitors from around the world to join us in practical, hands-on experiences. Through workshops, Permaculture Design Courses, natural building projects, and daily work in the gardens and forest systems, we share knowledge on how to live simply, resiliently, and in deep connection with the land. Our space is both a home and a place of co-creation, where relationships, learning, and ecological stewardship grow together.

Our dream is to continue transforming this land into a flourishing agroecological sanctuary that inspires others to reconnect with nature and live in regenerative ways. We envision expanding our food forests, increasing local seed sovereignty, building more natural structures, and deepening our role as a learning and community hub. Ultimately, we hope that Keela becomes a model of sustainable living that can be shared, adapted, and replicated in many regions around the world.
