NECTAR-IFB Núcleo de Estudos Cerratenses, Tecnologias, Ambiente e Ruralidades

O NECTAR-IFB – Núcleo de Estudos Cerratense, Tecnologias, Ambiente e Ruralidades – é um grupo de ensino, pesquisa e extensão vinculado ao Instituto Federal de Brasília, Campus Planaltina. Criado em 2023, o grupo tem como missão valorizar o bioma Cerrado e promover práticas sustentáveis por meio da integração entre saberes científicos e populares. Suas ações envolvem trilhas pedagógicas, roteiros técnico-educativos, feiras, trocas de sementes, tecnologias sociais e projetos de agroecologia e educação ambiental. Com atuação interdisciplinar e colaborativa, o NECTAR busca fortalecer as ruralidades, a biodiversidade e a convivência harmônica entre sociedade e natureza.

NECTAR-IFB – Center for Cerrado Studies, Technologies, Environment and Ruralities – is a teaching, research, and outreach group based at the Federal Institute of Brasília, Planaltina Campus. Founded in 2023, the group’s mission is to value the Cerrado biome and promote sustainable practices through the integration of scientific and traditional knowledge. Its activities include educational trails, technical and pedagogical visits, seed exchange fairs, social technologies, and projects in agroecology and environmental education. With an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach, NECTAR aims to strengthen rural communities, biodiversity, and harmonious coexistence between society and nature.

Meu sonho para o futuro da minha terra e da minha região é ver um Cerrado vivo, respeitado e regenerado, onde as pessoas e a natureza convivem em equilíbrio. Imagino um lugar onde a produção de alimentos acontece de forma agroecológica, regenerando os solos, protegendo as nascentes e valorizando a rica biodiversidade cerratense. Um território onde os saberes tradicionais, científicos e ancestrais se encontram e se fortalecem, inspirando as novas gerações a permanecerem no campo com dignidade e propósito. Sonho que nossa terra se torne referência em sustentabilidade — não apenas ecológica, mas também social e cultural — com comunidades fortalecidas, águas limpas correndo nos rios e veredas, e espécies nativas florescendo livremente. Quero ver trilhas ecológicas, casas de sementes, quintais produtivos e salas de aula sob as árvores, onde o Cerrado ensine a cada passo. No fundo, meu sonho vai além da minha área: é por um futuro mais justo, enraizado na terra, e profundamente conectado ao Cerrado que nos sustenta.
My dream for the future of my land and my region is to see a thriving and respected Cerrado—alive, protected, and regenerated—where people and nature coexist in harmony. I envision a place where food is produced through agroecological practices that heal the soil, protect the springs, and celebrate the rich biodiversity of the Cerrado biome. A territory where traditional, scientific, and ancestral knowledge come together, inspiring younger generations to stay on the land with dignity and purpose. I dream that our land becomes a reference in sustainability—not only ecological, but also social and cultural—with empowered communities, clean water flowing through rivers and veredas, and native species flourishing once again. I imagine ecological trails, seed houses, productive home gardens, and open-air classrooms under trees, where the Cerrado itself becomes our teacher. Ultimately, my dream reaches beyond my own farm: it is for a more just and rooted future, deeply connected to the Cerrado that sustains us.
