The Flora Barreto Agroforestry is located on the Santa Clara Farm in the municipality of Bela Vista de Goiás. Focused on coffee cultivation, it was established on December 17, 2022, by farmer Rosimar Santa Clara. The initiative aims to develop a sustainable agroforestry system rooted in agroecological principles, promoting regenerative and sustainable agriculture.
By integrating coffee with other native and productive species, the project fosters biodiversity, improves soil health, and enhances resilience to climate variability. This approach seeks to balance agricultural productivity with ecological restoration, creating a harmonious and self-sustaining environment. The system not only provides economic benefits but also restores critical ecosystem services, such as water regulation, carbon sequestration, and habitat creation for local fauna.
The Flora Barreta agroforestry model is part of a broader movement to transform agricultural landscapes through regenerative practices. By demonstrating the viability of agroecological systems, the project inspires other farmers to adopt similar methods, contributing to a more sustainable future for farming communities and the environment.
