Rancho Pura Vida

Rancho Pura Vida

Summary description

In the heart of the Brazilian Cerrado, we’ve embraced an initiative to implement Agroforestry Systems as a way to restore the land and promote sustainable development. This unique biome, often called the "cradle of waters," is under immense pressure from deforestation and unsustainable agriculture. By integrating native Cerrado species like pequi, baru, and cagaita with food crops and timber, we’re creating a productive and biodiverse system that regenerates degraded areas. Through this effort, we’ve seen improvements in soil fertility, better water retention, and new opportunities for income diversification.

Our work goes beyond just planting—it’s about empowering local farmers and communities with sustainable practices that reduce dependency on harmful inputs and protect the Cerrado’s rich biodiversity. By aligning productivity with conservation, we’re proving that it’s possible to take care of the environment while supporting livelihoods. This initiative is more than a project; it’s a model of hope that can inspire others to restore their land and build a more sustainable future for everyone.
