As part of its commitment to sustainability, the Horta Comunitária do Grajaú has developed a domestic composting project aimed at reducing waste and producing organic compost and biofertilizer for use in urban gardens. By transforming food scraps and organic matter into nutrient-rich soil amendments, the initiative not only minimizes landfill waste but also strengthens the local food system through natural soil regeneration. This project encourages community members to adopt composting practices at home, fostering a deeper connection with ecological cycles and promoting a circular economy where waste is repurposed into valuable resources for urban agriculture.
